In each of the next few years, Innovate UK expects to spend in excess of £1 Billion (£1,000,000,000 GBP) on grants to industry and companies of all types and sizes. We are committed to ensuring that the grant funding is used effectively and properly.
One means by which we do this is to monitor the progress of grant funded projects throughout the project lifetime, working with suppliers of monitoring services. Their role is to monitor technical progress, project management and reporting as well as financial management and control.
A great time to get more involved
Whether you are already supplying monitoring services to Innovate UK, or are entirely new to us, now is a great opportunity to get more involved.
As an organisation, we're growing rapidly as we take a pivotal role in the delivery of the UK’s industrial strategy. Over the last year we have nearly doubled the number of projects that we have funded, each one of which needs to be effectively monitored throughout its lifetime.
We’re looking to broaden our pool of monitoring experts
Our highly-valued existing suppliers of monitoring services have been an important part of our growth. But, if we are to meet our future growth targets, we need more monitoring suppliers, particularly those at the cutting edge of new technologies.
In order to make it easier for both existing and new suppliers, we are in the process of setting up a new online Dynamic Procurement System, through which we will be procuring monitoring services for all new projects from January 2018.
Through this new system, we will be procuring an initial series of 30 lots of monitoring services, with a total value of around £40 million.

In order to inform both existing and new monitoring suppliers of the changes to our process, we’ve organised a number of engagement events on the following dates:
- 24.7.2017 — Bristol
- 26.7.2017 — Birmingham
- 1.8.2017 — Glasgow
- 3.8.2017 — Manchester
- 8.8.2017 — London

Attendance at a pre-market engagement event is entirely optional and is not a requirement for joining the Dynamic Procurement System. If you wish to attend an event, the deadline for letting us know is 14th July 2017, 2pm.
