Diverse thinking breeds diversity and innovation. Hannah Gibson from the Transforming Construction Challenge team explores what diversity means for the sector.
Hannah Gibson is part of UK Research and Innovation’s Transforming Construction Challenge. As an Innovation Lead, Hannah is focussed on the impact of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. She works across the construction sector and with government to translate the change underway, from an industry fixated on lowest cost, to one driven by whole-life value. Hannah supports Challenge investments to utilise digital manufacturing, data and digital driven processes, increase productivity and reduce carbon emissions.
Prior to joining UKRI, Hannah specialised in future skills and innovation policy at the Construction Industry Training Board. Her role involved building relationships with industry stakeholders and understanding the key issues for the construction sector, working with industry, parliamentarians and policy makers to effect change in the construction skills arena.
A Political Science graduate of the University of Birmingham, Hannah has previously worked in Public Affairs and Engagement for Alzheimer’s Society, Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and Deafblind UK.
