The Transforming Food Production (TFP) Challenge was launched as part of the second wave of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF). It is the only challenge that is focused on food and agriculture and £90 million over 4 years it is a ‘medium’ sized challenge.
Katrina is UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Challenge Director for Transforming Food Production challenge, which is a £90 million programme supporting technology and data-driven transformation in UK agriculture.
Prior to this, she was the Deputy Director - Global Portfolio responsible for leading on UKRI and Innovate UK’s business-led innovation global programs and partnership opportunities.
In her previous roles, she has worked for different organisations across the Agri-tech sector including FERA Science, DuPont Pioneer, and the World Economic Forum.
Throughout her career, she has worked on the commercialization of technology innovation both from a public and government perspective. Katrina has achieved a PhD in Biosciences, an MSc in Ecology and a BSc in Plant Sciences.
