Sam Johnson

Sam is one of the Innovation Leads working on the ISCF commercialising quantum technology challenge.

Sam has a research background in quantum technologies, focusing on the engineering of photonic devices to address the challenges of networking and scaling-up quantum computers. This academic research took place as part of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme, having previously completed a PhD in materials science. He has also held an analytical role within the Civil Service prior to joining Innovate UK.
In his current role, he supports quantum technologies to make the journey from the lab to commercial impact.
